April 11—“Stories Our Own Way: Queer Voices and Alternative Narratives”. There will be a short film screening of “Old Lesbians” and a panel of Montevallo queer folk and historians to reflect on the film and to talk about how rural communities preserve and advocate for their own queer histories. This event is hosted by Alabama Youth Activist Alliance and sponsored by the Montevallo Legacy Project and Spectrum: Gender & Sexuality.
